  1. What age range is appropriate for this production?

    • We offer classes for all kids from Pre K to Grade 12.

    • We can try to make exceptions to the class age groups to accommodate siblings and parent schedules on an as-needed basis.

 

  1. Is the content suitable for all audiences?

    • We focus on age-appropriate content for all age groups.

    • Oftentimes, different classes may perform together and we ensure the plays and musicals we perform are suitable for the entire family.

 

  1. How long is the performance?

    • Our performances take between 45 minutes to 1 hour.

 

  1. Is there an intermission?

    • When we are performing multiple shows on the same day, we will provide an intermission with snacks and beverages

 

  1. Can we bring snacks or drinks into the theater?

    • .

 

  1. Is the venue wheelchair and stroller-friendly?

    • Yes. The Durham Arts Council building is accessible with ramps and the theater is downstairs and an elevator is available.

 

  1. Are there discounts for children or families?

    • Definitely. YPPC wants all kids to have an opportunity to take part in the performing arts.

    • We offer a 30% discount for multiple registrations; i.e. multiple children and/or multiple classes.

  1. Are there educational components to the program?

 

  1. What is the dress code?

    • YPPC is an educational program, and we hope that all students will come to class appropriately dressed for rehearsal and the weather.

    • The theater is a casual setting and casual clothing is acceptable for all performances.

 

  1. Is photography allowed during the performance?

    • .

 

  1. How early should we arrive before performances?

    • Students are asked to arrive between one and two hours prior to performance time. The exact time is located on the class schedule.

    • Our events are ticketed so there is no need to arrive early for the performances. We will not oversell seating so bring your tickets and the doors open about 10 minutes before showtime.

    • Tickets are not required to attend performances, but be aware some shows may sell out the theater so please check the App for ticket availability under Events.
