Centerfest 2025
Durham Arts Council

Come participate at YPPC as we celebrate CenterFest's 50th Anniversary!

We have Four performance opportunities for our students at CenterFest, each student can choose up to TWO to participate in:

3 Improv Shows

1 Paperhand Puppet Parade

Improv - All students who have already been a part of an Improv presentation at YPPC (2024 Holiday Show or Improv camps in 2024 or 2025) are invited to perform in YPPC Improv shows at Centerfest. Each Improv show is limited to 12 performers.

Improvizers will dress in costume and "busk" before the performance. Busking is walking around the festival, handing out flyers to gather an audience for the shows. Anyone is welcome to busk (parents, siblings), but the kids usually do great.

The Improv show run times will be 45 min

Improv shows will be:

Saturday 9/20 @ 12:30pm (kids arrive at 11am to get in costume and busk)

Saturday, 9/20 @ 3pm (kids arrive at 2pm to get in costume and busk)

Sunday, 9/21 @ 2pm (kids arrive at 12:30pm to get in costume and busk)

*To perform Improv for CenterFest, students must attend at least 1 Improv rehearsal (preferably both):

Sunday, 9/14, 1-4pm

Friday, 9/19, 4-7pm

Paperhand Puppet ParadePaperhand Puppets has asked YPPC to join them in creating a parade using their amazing puppets. They are looking for kids who can move with a sense of character.

Parade time is:

Saturday, 9/20 @ 1:30pm (kids arrive by 1pm to pick out a puppet, parade starts moving at 1:40 and lasts for 30 min)
